Voltage spikes below VSS at the MCLR/VPP/RA5/FLTA pin, inducing currents greater than 80 mA, may

should be used when applying a “low” level to the MCLR/

VPP/RA5/FLTA pin, rather than pulling this pin directly to VSS.
